Busy Day -- Mostly Website-Related

I didn't feel well today (as I reported in my health report entry). Happily I do feel better tonight...

I worked on the header banner for the festival website -- and tweaked it quite a bit from what I had yesterday. I think it turned out okay (if not great). Anyway, it's a change for 2013 and sticks to the theme for this year, so there we go...

I spent HOURS on a complicated task that will hopefully make life easier for the Sales Team at work. I'm sure I'll be glad I did it in the long run, but it was very tedious while I was working on it and I wasn't all that thrilled to be spending so much time on one lousy webpage. (sigh) I was surprised to find how damn many times I had a given sponsor appear over and over again! So much for hiding the text. Hahahahaha. Well, it's just never been an easy page, period. If we make a drastic change to the website, that's a page that's probably going to have to go away -- at least as we know it now. But it could still list sponsors and their mobile tour exhibits. And maybe that's good enough!

Marilyn worked until past 8:00 p.m. tonight (and had to go in early this morning). What a long day for her! She's frustrated by work right now and not in a good mood -- which isn't like her at all. But considering she never is in a bad mood, I think she's entitled to be right now. Things are hard and complicated and she has good reasons for how she feels. I feel bad for her, but there's nothing much I can do -- except listen to her when she feels like talking about it...

Here's a good one (not): Kris phoned me around 6:00 p.m. to tell me he can't make it tomorrow! I CANCELLED my dentist appointment (I was supposed to get a root canal) because of our Wednesday meeting, so let's just say I'm not delighted by this. But what can I do? We've swapped out for Friday, instead. And I'll stay home tomorrow and call early and see if the dentist can possibly take me. (I bet they won't be able to.) Oh well. I'm no worse off about the dentist than I already was.

Marilyn and I did talk about that one, though. They don't work Friday. And the work a half day on Monday. Imagine what it must be like to only work three and a half days a week? Sounds pretty nice, doesn't it? (smile) Well, on the other hand, I can't imagine working inside people's MOUTHS day in and out. So I wouldn't trade for that, believe me...

Wonderful friends and neighbors June and Jim let me 'borrow' cottage cheese for dinner tonight! How sweet was that? They always save me that.

Sister Sue had a bad day and isn't feeling all that well. But at least she did go to lunch with her son Larry to celebrate her birthday...

I don't know what else I'm forgetting to share...

Oh! Marilyn and I watched Cabaret" tonight while eating dinner. It came out in 1972 and shocked us both to the core the first time we saw it! Remember, we were raised on very traditional musicals (like "The Sound of Music"), so it was quite a departure. Amazing performances, needless to say. It won awards right and left, but "The Godfather" (a huge favorite of ours) got Best Picture that year. You can never tell...
