Randomness -- Loads of Links...

Time for a totally RANDOM entry, I think...

I think I really want to buy Scrivener -- even though it's $40 for this software and I'm really broke right now (and for the foreseeable future), and even though I rarely buy new applications... But I have to say it sounds AMAZING -- and like a tool that could really be helpful to a writer. And I want to WRITE this year! That's one of my RESOLUTIONS for 2013 -- to spend more time on serious writing...

Query letters seem pretty terrifying to me. There! I've said it! (And I'm not alone, of course!) But in facing my fear, I find SlushPile Hell delightful! Hahahahahaha. Humor can only help the situation, after all...

On a slightly different subject, seems like a great site for searching for a potential literary agent -- and if you plan to be published, you'll need to plan on having an agent at some point.

Turning in an entirely different direction, I like how this Mom Gives Her 13-Year-Old Son An iPhone For Christmas — Plus An 18-point Contract To Go With It -- way to go, Mom!!! I don't necessarily agree with every point she made, but I love that she's willing to have RULES about the cell phone (and to enforce those rules). As another person said to me recently, the world would be a different place if there was reasonable and loving discipline for children and youth. (In other words, I had rules and discipline when I was growing up, and it didn't hurt me! Hahahahaha.)

Swing around again, please! Did anyone see Kim Ramsey appearing on "The Jeff Probst Show" (she has Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder)? You can read about her shocking condition HERE...

Well, she was 94, so there's no point in being upset about it, but it is the end of an era! Dear Abby (columnist Pauline Phillips -- better known as Abigail Van Buren) has died. (Her identical twin sister -- Esther "Eppie" Lederer -- was famous as columnist Ann Landers. She died in 2002...) I'm just hoping Mom gets to meet her in heaven, as she just LOVED Abby! (smile)

Okay, dog fans! Here's a touching TALE (tail?) of a loyal dog that attends mass where his owner (Maria Margherita Lochi) went to church daily before her death late last year.

The first PRAYER on THIS PAGE ("Safely Home") is a favorite of mine. It comforted me back in the 1980's when my beloved Aunt Dorothy passed away -- and many times since then when I've experienced losses. If you've lost someone really close to you, you might find comfort, too...

Well, I guess that's it for randomness!

I hope some of you are taking time to enjoy the Australian Open, by the way! There's been some good tennis! Maria Sharapova plays Venus Williams in the third round tonight at midnight (Pacific Time)...
