Cleaning the Family Room -- and a Night Out With Rosanna!

Still bothered by my latest medical issue. At this point using the medicine seems to make things MORE uncomfortable -- so I'm not sleeping all that well. But what the hell. It involves hormone therapy, so I need to be patient while everything balances out. Today I was crying for no good reason -- and not really feeling emotional when it happened. It's frustrating, but I've probably got a good month in front of me before things even out, so I just need to deal.

After yesterday, Marilyn and I were feeling pretty accomplished. That was a huge task -- and it's exciting that I found spots in the garage (that I organized this past week) to neatly put aside the two boxes for shredding without messing things up again. (woo hoo)

Today I went through all the stuff we've had in various places for cousin Linda and got it neatly packed up and in one spot (again in the garage). Hopefully I'll figure out a way to get it all to her this week... (Not sure how, but I'd love to see it happen.)

Friend Shari seems FINE today, by the way. I'm guessing she just did too much yesterday. She was mostly embarrassed and is talking about weight loss (which would be a good thing for many reasons). And she was out today, so apparently she's doing okay. I talked to her for some time, anyway.

Then while Marilyn was at the office working, I cleaned the family room -- getting ready to decorate for Christmas. It looks pretty nice, now.

This evening Marilyn and I went to see "Skyfall" with our friend Rosanna (Marilyn paid for all three of us -- she's so generous). Yes, yes -- this is the THIRD time Marilyn and I have seen it. But we told Rosanna in advance of going to see a film that we were willing to go to whatever she wanted to see. It had been between this and "Lincoln," but the Bond film worked better for her time-wise (having to leave her terminally ill father alone at home means using care and judgement about these things, of course). It was good for her to get out for a bit and he slept while we were away, so it's all good.

I only dozed very briefly during the movie (!!!). I was just worn out from working today, plus not sleeping that great last night. But I actually nodded off the last time we saw the movie and slept even longer than this time. Hahahahaha. Marilyn caught me snoring, which was how she knew I'd fallen asleep. Oh well. At least I didn't sleep the first time I saw it, so I knew what was happening! And I was awake for all the best scenes. (smile)

Right now I'm thinking about a nap. I'm actually sore from housecleaning (I did a lot of bending, kneeling and stooping -- and some carrying of heavy stuff), and ready to take it easy. Ever notice how you can come away from a movie a bit stiff and sore? Those seats aren't the most comfortable thing in the world, are they? (I even remember that from when I was a teenager, so I don't think it's related to 'getting old' or anything...)

Henry (our cat) has followed me here into our home office, where I'm blogging. He likes to curl up in 'his' chair (in the corner) while I type my LJ entry for the day. I think he ends up disappointed when I blog from my iPad downstairs. Hahahaha. And earlier today Colin was 'helping' me clean -- he was there almost every second while I was working. Good boys!

Tomorrow we have more cleaning to do -- and I have some work to get done. But I'm hoping we can get some REST in before Tuesday.

On Tuesday we need to be at work by 4:30 a.m. -- and we'll be there until at least 7:00 p.m. Yes, that's one damn long day!

We're involved with the Toy Drive for Fox 12 (KPTV 12) -- our office is an official drop off spot for the day. Plus TV will be there for HOURS during the day -- all during the morning show and again at night for the news show. So we'll have our Clown Prince, Clown Corps, a singing group we work with, the Court, the Queen and a ton of others around. Interestingly enough, this is falling during our annual audit -- meaning we'll also have a troop of auditors on site. Crazy, huh?

I can only imagine that it will be difficult to get our normal work done. It's hard to imagine right now what things will be like. Hopefully people will actually come by with donations...

Well, that's it for today!
