More Movies...

Okay, Marilyn and I have now watched two more movies on TV...

We finally decided to watch the 2010 movie "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" (or "Wall Street 2") -- and what a disappointment! Bad story, bad script, bad directing, bad (and weird) filming and even some bad acting -- though Shia LaBeouf had the best (most interesting) character and did the best job, overall. Michael Douglas was okay. The female lead was just UGH. You couldn't like the character and the acting was crap -- what a spoiled brat who appeared to have no motivation for anything she did...

As we're both huge fans of the original movie ("Wall Street"), this was quite a let down. At the beginning of the movie I told Marilyn the only good thing was that Charlie Sheen wasn't in it -- but unfortunately 'Bud Fox' did make a brief appearance. Not brief enough for me! (If I never saw him again it would be too soon...)

But though that movie was a letdown, the 2008 film "Easy Virtue" was a big hit with both of us! Based on on Noel Coward's play of the same name, this movie was excellent all the way around. Good story, good script, GREAT acting (a fabulous cast), well directed and just entirely entertaining. We happened upon it, but I'd love to see it again.

Interestingly, both Colin Firth and Ben Barnes were in this movie -- and we just saw them in "Dorian Gray"!!! By the way, let's talk about eye candy. (whew)

I'd suggest people not waste time on "Wall Street 2" (which never made much sense, was disjointed, filmed in very odd ways -- and had bad music, to boot), but you really should see "Easy Virtue" if you get the chance!
