Good and Bad.

If my day can be half good (or more), then it's a good day. I figure we need to take some bad along with the good -- but even a half bad day isn't a BAD day.

Today was a good day. It was more than half good -- with only a little bit of bad. And the bad will fade, leaving only the good behind. The result: A GOOD day.

On the bad side, I'm having some minor issues with my blood count and adjusting to my new prescription. Time should take care of that (hopefully). Time and patience.

And the rose image I worked on (spent ages working on) for the festival poster this year? First the guy complains that the image he got was 'too small.' Okay. Today his email refers to 'the revised poster made from the huuuuuge file.' Really? (Look, guy, you wanted 300 DPI and that's what I gave you.) I guess you can't please everyone. In all honesty, I was worried that the final image might be too big -- but I had no way to know exactly what he needed (and Lilia was seriously NO help with this). So I did the best I could. End of story.

Marilyn brought me home from work around one-ish this afternoon. After she headed back to work, I was sitting on the sofa and I dozed off (which I don't recall happening at all). When I woke up around 45 minutes later, it was to the sound of crows making a TON of noise. I opened my eyes and sat up and saw a slew of them in the branches of the trees in our back yard (!!!). I guess they were my crow-alarm today. (smile)

I did do the orientation for Jessica, Marilyn's new assistant today -- which went well. She'll be spending half-days helping cover the phones and half-days helping Marilyn. There was a huge stack of file folders sitting on Marilyn's desk, and she and Jessica managed to file everything away this afternoon -- so that's a great start!

I spent the afternoon working on getting the GFW website Live (it had previously been one of my mock-up sites, hidden at the real thing). I have to say it turned out really well, and I'm pleased as punch with it! It's exciting to know I have these four websites out there (aside from personal websites, that is) -- and interesting to think that my involvement here at LiveJournal really has been a benefit to what I do as a webmaster.

What else?

We just saw Rafa Nadal win his tennis match at Indian Wells. I was surprised it was as close as it was! Roger Federer is up next!

The cats (Colin and Henry) have this new habit of lying ON my feet recently. Which would be fine, but they often end up scratching and/or biting my feet -- not a good thing. (sigh) I do love my cats, so I'm not complaining, really. Oh! And that neighbor cat, Teacup, is a pest. He/she was over here again today and even went in our garage! It makes our cats crazy, so I'd rather Teacup would stay closer to home, thanks.

I've been reading several books. I'm especially impressed by "The American: A Special Edition of A Very Private Gentleman" (written by Martin Booth). Booth is an amazing writer -- and his descriptions are magical. I highly recommend this book -- especially to anyone who loves Italy.

Marilyn didn't get home from work until past 8:00 p.m. tonight. Tomorrow is another busy day (I'm going to the office again), so I'm headed for my Kindle and a nap soon.

I'm still not getting email notices. I don't know what to do about this... (sigh)
