First, for those who are wondering, Henry is up and down -- good for awhile, then bad. So it's hard to say at this point if he'll make it or not. But Marilyn and I remain HOPEFUL -- and he is eating (a little) and drinking (water, a little). So he's trying very, very hard.
Marilyn and I dropped by sister Sue's house briefly today, to take Christmas goodies to Sue, Candy, Nicole and Madyson. It was nice. And we came home with ham that they shared with us. Should make for a nice breakfast tomorrow morning! (woo hoo)
2010 was a rough year, and I won't be sorry to see the end of it! But this first decade of the new century? It's been AMAZING! So I guess we have to cut 2010 a little slack if we're considering that! (grin)
One of the GREAT things of this decade and year has been all my wonderful LiveJournal Friends! Thanks for making my world a happier place to be, everyone! You mean so much to me.
As we say goodbye to this year, I want to wish you Happy New Year -- with all good things in 2011!
We'll soon be opening the back door to let 2010 depart -- then opening the front door to run out and ring bells and use our traditional noisemakers (some that have been in the family since before we were born) to ring in the new year! It's always fun to shout greetings to the neighbors who stay up to do the same thing.
Then we phone many family members and friends to offer them greetings. (We'll have to wait for Sue to call us, so we don't risk waking Candy. But that's okay...)
Yes, the cats get locked up downstairs, just to be safe...
It's now just past 11:00 p.m. here, so I need to go get out our New Year's Eve box (which is an old hat box, for whatever reason). Marilyn and I also ring the bells we've had since childhood.
These are our bells that we've had since we were kids. Mine is the 'White Christmas' bell
and Marilyn's is 'Baby Bell.'
This is the box I mentioned. I wrote on the top of
it years ago, but we had this when we lived at home
with Mom and Dad...
This is a vintage noisemaker that Mom had before
we were born! I looked it up online at one point
years ago. Obviously it was designed for Halloween,
but we always used it for New Year's Eve!
It took me awhile to find the photos I wanted here, so now it's about 20 minutes to midnight! And we're watching The Backstreet Boys perform! A perfect way to end this decade, considering what The Boys have meant to us this decade!!! Yep, we still love BSB...
See you all again NEXT year! (heh)
