Happy Charlie Feeds 'Her' Crows!

I'm so glad that Marilyn suggested I move the 'feeding area' for my CROWS to under the big tree that's in front of our garage! In the house we have a kitchen window that faces directly toward that spot, with a small wooden bench (that was our Dad's) under it, where our cats can easily sit and watch the fun!

But it's also much easier for me to take photos of the crows as they eat!

They still go to the 'old feeding area,' too -- I couldn't break them hunting there for goodies, so I put their old green bowls that I used to use for water there. One for food and one for water -- and they still flock there like mad! But they finally got used to the new spot, too -- and when the squirrels aren't running them off, they're there enjoying the feast, usually on a daily basis. Of course, that depends on how good I am about getting outside to feed and water them, but I try to do it every day. It's not as easy in winter to give them water (!!!), now that the outdoor spigots are covered against the cold. That means hauling out water as well as food. But I do my best!

Today they got left over taco chips (smashed into small pieces), leftover buns (torn up) and seeds from the bag Marilyn and I bought -- a mixture that includes all sort of goodies: various seeds, dried fruit and so on. It's very popular with almost every critter around, it seems! But they still want BREAD, no matter what... (And love popcorn when we have leftovers... smile...)

Photo share!

The cats like to see them eat, but I simply LOVE it! It never fails to lift my heart and make me smile. I think crows are such beautiful birds, and so smart. And you'll notice mine are fat and sassy and glossy as can be!

Today was a small group, actually. I've been known to have twice that many on a really busy day.

Now I need to share photos of the boys (Colin and Henry) sitting on the bench watching! (smile)
