Happy Thanksgiving!

Marilyn and I went shopping late (as did sister Sue and two of her granddaughters). Didn't get home until after 1:00 a.m. Then we didn't get to bed until around 4:00 a.m.

As we always do on holidays, Marilyn and I made up plates of goodies for our garbage and recycling people (two, in other words). I put these out before we headed for bed. My reasoning is often that I won't wake in time to get them out in the morning, otherwise.

Around 6:00 a.m. I had a dream that woke me. In my dream someone took the goodies. I got out of bed and went to check and sure enough -- the goodies were gone (!!!). Marilyn suggested I make up new plates, so I did. I got them out in time, happily -- and we stayed up to be sure nobody else decided to help themselves...

I also got food and water out for the crows (other birds and squirrels), having bought stuff to give them a nice Thanksgiving dinner (smile).

I got to wave at the recycling guy -- he saw me peeking out and waved. The garbage guy was too busy to see me. But both got their plates!

Marilyn and I stayed up and watched the McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago -- and got to see Marilyn's friend Phil interviewed on TV. It's an interesting parade. (I'll skip the review for now.)

We had PIZZA (!!!) for breakfast, left over from our meal at Amalfi's (with Sue) yesterday. (We didn't need to crack open the pizza for today, as we still had a lot from the first pizza.) It seemed like a party to be watching TV and eating pizza and just relaxing.

Eventually I headed back to bed. I felt chilled, so I had a hot bath first, which was lovely! Then a long, wonderful nap.

For dinner we got out the second pizza and heated it up in the microwave. Yummy! Marilyn's been playing Civilization IV, and I played some Zuma. And I checked up with friends on Facebook. It's been such a nice day!

And though 2010 has been a hard year, there's still much to be THANKFUL for. (Of course, Marilyn and I are thankful every day...)

Happy Thanksgiving!
