While working this morning, I came across the following logo. And it reminded me. So even though it's not the time of year we win these awards, it's worth mentioning...
The festival wins numerous awards EVERY year. (Marilyn mistressmarilyn has won a TON of these over the years.)
In 2008 we got Silver for the website -- and I'm pretty damn proud of that fact.
We also got Gold for our eNewsletter in 2008 and a Gold for the Christmas card I did the art on. And in 2009 we took Bronze for our eNewsletter. (I'm pretty pleased to have won two years in a row, considering the art and design are 100% my work.)
Like everyone else, I've competed many times and I've lost many times in my life -- but I'm really proud and humbled by these wins.
The website didn't win this past year, but I think we've made some positive changes for 2010 -- so who knows? Maybe we'll win another award. Meanwhile, Jeff always points out that it's an award-winning site (which is true) -- and I've started to do that, too. Why not be pleased by the successes we've had with the website?
