Novel: "The Loyal Grenvilles"

I read this book as a teen in grade school. It had a profound effect on my life, believe it or not. But I've never found it in the library since (I'm sure it's been out of print forever) -- and it never occurred to me to do a book search for it!

Here's a review of "The Loyal Grenvilles."

ETA (edited to add): The above link is now dead, I'm sorry to report!

So I'm adding this REVIEW of "The Loyal Grenvilles" (and I'm going to add the exact text -- just in case this review disappears, as well!).

Here's the REVIEW of this book:

"The once vital atmosphere of Winterhall is subdued and heavy with the background of defeat as the proud Grenville family live in reluctant submission to the Roundhead government. Lord Winterhall, ill and thwarted, bids his two sons, Strafford and Lovel, patiently to await the restoration of the royalists, but fourteen year old Strafford rebels overtly, particularly when his sister marries the Puritan official, Sir Anthony. In an outburst of royalist sympathy, Strafford defies his uncle and the Roundheads, and helps a royalist escape from prison. Only Sir Anthony's intervention, which is predicated on his admiration for Strafford's bravery and his devotion to the family, saves the young boy from banishment. Secret rooms, tyrannic school masters, and intrigue provide a lively vehicle here for a clear exposition of the royalist-Cromwell controversy."

And it's available via Biblio.Com and others. (woo hoo)
