Puny? Afraid So. But Even So...

Well, I may still be puny from being sick, but even so I've done several things today. I had to spread them out and rest in between, but slow and steady and all that...

Just going shopping with sister Sue suzy_qp about did me in originally. She took me to Freddies to grab a few things, and also to Walgreen's so I could get more meds (I was running really low). It was certainly nice of her to take me!

Sue's doing better than I am, but is still under the weather. We stopped and got Starbucks and she had an iced beverage, which I didn't dare do considering my bug. Anyway, I certainly enjoyed my Pumpkin Spice Latte, which I sipped on for hours. Yummy!

After picking up my groceries and dragging them in from the car (plus the bag of medicines), I was so wet from sweating that I to literally change clothes. (Sue later told me the same was true for her.) I tried to force down lunch (some soup), but I've had no appetite and only ate a few spoonfuls. I took it easy, then started in on the garbage and recycling (including the cat boxes). I didn't finish up until 4:00 p.m., as I went really slowly. I felt pretty proud when I finally finished it all up, though.

And that's a pretty good reflection of how puny I am right now!

Marilyn had a busy day at work, with meetings running almost all day long. She was starved when she got home, as she hadn't had a bite all day! I made her a homemade nacho, then both of us some mac and cheese (I've been craving it for days -- comfort food, you know).

The Da Vinci Code: Special Illustrated Edition

I'm continuing to read "The Da Vinci Code: Special Illustrated Edition" by Dan Brown. This version contains more than 160 full-color images of various art pieces and locations mentioned in the novel. The book was a recent gift, and it's great fun to read and view at the same time! (And you all know what a huge Dan Brown fan I am.) This is really all the reading I've felt up to since I got sick late last Wednesday/early Thursday morning. It's still hard to believe it's only been under a week since I got this damn flu.

There's a TON to accomplish at work right now, with the move firmly in front of us. (Plus Marilyn mentioned some website work that's lined up for me concerning the Court.) I'm really anxious to get back to the office as soon as I can!

I need to determine what computers should be moved, which should go home with Staff and which need to go into storage. I need to continue to pack up my own space and get things organized in the IT Room -- as well as go through the many cubes that will be made available for the new owners very soon. There's just a lot to do right now.

I'm trying to decide about NaNo for this year, too. I managed to do it last year, so I certainly should try again this year. I wish I had a better idea of what I want to write, though...

Well, I'm probably going to try and nap again. Or maybe read a little. The only TV I've really watched today are old episodes of "I Love Lucy." (I love that show.)

The weather here has been nasty. I managed not to be doing the shopping or the garbage and recycling during pouring rain and strong winds, but that's mostly what we've faced. Plus it continues to be cool and to require us to run the heat. (I really need to stick the oil and figure out how soon we'll need to order more...)

I'm envious of all Marilyn's fanfic and would love to write some. I have ideas, but don't quite seem to get to them.

I'd also like to work on some new icons and share them. I'm not sure when I'll find the time, but I think about it often. (smile)

On that note, I'm off for now!
