Just like LAST YEAR, I was working on the current festival eNewsletter when I got the phone call about our Pinnacle wins for 2009. This year it was Marilyn mistressmarilyn who let me know. She got the information directly from Jeff, who is currently in Indianapolis, Indiana at the annual IFEA convention.
Marilyn jokingly said, "I guess you and I will just have to settle for Silver this year," then told me that the parade (which she manages) got Silver for Best Event (a new category this year), and the eNewsletter took a Silver (last year it got Gold).
Well, I remember last year before the awards when I just hoped we could win something for the eNewsletter, so I'm not going to be disappointed with second place. I did really want us to win Gold for Best Event, but again, you can't really complain about a Silver award! We're obviously doing something right, and I'm proud of our award-winning work.
So, it's another RED LETTER day! (smile)
You know, it's exciting and gratifying to not only be doing work that we love and that we feel is important -- but to be doing work that other people appreciate and honor. Good deal!
