Back From the Beach!

Marilyn mistressmarilyn and I are back from a trip to the beach with sister Sue suzy_qp and friend Mitch! We'd originally planned to go yesterday, but because I've been 'under the weather' we waited to go today, instead.

I neglected to make my bday post for otherdeb Live this morning before we left (!!!), so please be sure to see it HERE! (Sorry about that!)

We had a great time today, and I actually had one reading of only 98. My counts have been high in recent days (apparently due to the FEVER I've been running), so I haven't been able to get myself to test more than once, or maybe twice. (sigh) This morning was still rather high -- but not quite as high as some days! I was happy to see that 98, I have to say.

And I did feel much better today, too! I've been going strong since we left the house around 1:00 p.m. (and it's now past 1:00 a.m.).

It was a bit socked in at the beach and cool, so we didn't end up playing any tennis. But we did play quite a bit of Fascination. And we had a lovely dinner at the Wayfarer (in Cannon Beach), one of our faves. (You can view the dinner menu HERE -- I had the Fettuccine, which was fabulous.)

And we also went to Zinger's for ice cream (Mike had malted milk ball -- even though it's supposed to be off for September!).

I won a 50¢ bet with Marilyn! I bet Kim Clijsters would beat Serena Williams, and she did! Talking U.S. Open Tennis here, of course. And don't get me wrong -- I love Serena (and Venus). I just happen to love Kim, too -- and am excited about her comeback. I'm delighted she's in the Finals -- and I'd love to see her win the whole thing.

Well, it's late and I imagine we'll head to bed soon.
