Festival Office Clean Up Day -- We Survived!

Today was Clean Up Day at the festival office. The focus was storage (which is in the building next door), though some of us did other clean up, as well.

My personal focus was the IT Room, which was a DISASTER after WFV breakdown (etc.). It now looks FABULOUS, thanks to help from both Marilyn mistressmarilyn and Laura.

Boy, I admit I was worn out tonight, after lifting the old style (heavy) monitors up over my head while standing on the IT Room counter. There are cabinets, and we store the monitors way up on top of these. Marilyn and Laura handed them up and I lifted them into place. (whew)

I also helped a little with storage and moving boxes in the office. We had both a dumpster and huge recycling unit, so it was a good time to dump things.

Marilyn actually got ill at one point helping over at storage. Her allergies have been bad lately, and the dirt and dust are fierce. (Plus she shouldn't be lifting some of those things, but insists on doing it anyway.) Of course I'm the only one who knows she felt sick, as she never lets on or complains.

Peter ran things and did a GREAT job. He had guys from the Waterfront crew there to help with the really heavy lifting -- and did try to keep Staff from doing too much lifting.

I started out my day doing IT -- and got interrupted from cleaning several times for more IT. There's just no way around it for me! (smile) That's cool -- I try to be there for people when it comes to IT issues...

Thankfully the IT Room clean up is done for now. And even though I didn't do much with my cube, it isn't all that bad, either. I have a lot of STUFF, I admit, but it doesn't look like a disaster.

Part of our goal is to make the office look nice, considering it's up for sale and there have been potential buyers coming in to see it recently. It's the time of year when we do clean up, though, sale or no sale.

There's more cleaning going on tomorrow, too, so things should look pretty decent by next week!

I'm back to really reading again (!!!), now that the festival is over. I started "Vivaldi's Virgins" before the festival, but put it aside (with several other books I was also reading). Now I'm captivated by this book that Paul loaned me! (Note that there's CONSTANT music at the official website linked above. While it's lovely, it's also ANNOYING as hell. Why can't webmasters always provide an 'off' option for music/sounds???)

News from today? My personal favorite of Farrah was the made-for-TV movie "The Substitute Wife" (I loved her character Pearl). But let's face it, I loved Jill Monroe, too -- and we never missed "Charlie's Angels." (Yeah, we had the famous Farrah poster.)

Now I Believe In Miracles
And A Miracle
Has Happened Tonight ...

But, If
You're Thinkin'
About My Baby
It Don't Matter If You're
Black Or White ...

They Print My Message
In The Saturday Sun
I Had To Tell Them
I Ain't Second To None ...

And I Told About Equality
An It's True
Either You're Wrong
Or You're Right ...

Don't Tell Me You Agree With Me
When I Saw You Kicking Dirt In My Eye ...

I Said If
You're Thinkin' Of
Being My Brother
It Don't Matter If You're
Black Or White ...

The incredible music. All those AMAZING music videos. (How I loved the "Thriller" video. But there were so many other great ones, too.) And forget the other things and remember his TALENT.

I suspect heaven is having quite a concert tonight!

And in other news, one more day until vacation -- and we're almost to the point where we're counting the hours. (whee)

Jeff was done today -- and heading for vacation tomorrow (and pretty excited about it). I have him some computer video games for the kids and he was pleased. I hope he has a great vaca.
