Thursday at Work. My Head Popped.

Never mind the details, but today I actually emailed to tell Marilyn mistressmarilyn that my head had popped. (One of her fave expressions, by the way. But so descriptive, don't you think?)

No, that's not a good thing. But I was able to laugh about it, so whatever.

The good part is that we both survived another day at the festival, only slightly worse for wear. And we weren't the last to leave today (!!!), for a change.

The new intern I worked with today? Amazing. Just. Wow.

The meeting with the guys from Dex? Really interesting. They've put together a very attractive and functional website -- and I'm not all that easy to impress, frankly, so that's saying something.

I got rather upset (and angry) about a personal piece of equipment that was used without my permission, but I'm over that, too. It's okay, and I'm sure it won't happen again, in spite of the misunderstanding surrounding the 'loan.' Stuff happens. End of story.

Some days I'm struck by how LITTLE I seem to know about things. Then again, Marilyn is pretty reassuring about my contribution, and how the festival relies on my expertise, so...

I think when it comes to IT Management, the more a person knows, the more there is to learn. The same is true for being a web master, for that matter. In spite of all the crap surrounding both jobs, I do ultimately love the work.

And there were at least two occasions today where I was laughing out loud so hard that I think most of the office could hear me! One time it was directly due to something Marilyn wrote me in an email. I have to tell you, she is such a witty person. Never, ever under-estimate her humor! And laughter is the best medicine of all.

We had lunch meat and cheese (nicely cut up) on crackers for our dinner -- and enjoyed it very much, thank you. It's something we've liked forever, but haven't eaten in a while... And we watched "Jeopardy" and the end (on DVR) of "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" (which has been a fave of ours since childhood -- we're huge Abbott and Costello fans). Life is GOOD! (grin)

Well, it's time for "Frasier" now -- and then for bed. Marilyn is still recovering from her procedure (what a trooper), and was asleep when I came to the office to write this.

Oh! Sister Sue suzy_qp is off to a cribbage tournament this weekend. And other than get our manicures, we have NOTHING we need to do this weekend (!!!), and are greatly looking forward to that!
