Work is Done for Today...

Marilyn mistressmarilyn and I just watched "Jeopardy" and ate our dinner. She got home just before 7:00 p.m., so we got to watch (most) of the show together.

I'm already done with the garbage and recycling for this week -- no fuss, no muss. (Including doing the cat boxes.) I did it early so I wouldn't be out after dark doing it (well, for the most part, anyway).

I just took 'blue' pills for my cold and am planning to go take a nap. Marilyn's downstairs in the family room watching tennis (the Australian Open) and getting ready to sleep. She had a busy day.

I worked on IT-related issues today, website updates and the next issue of the festival eNewsletter.

I also opened up some items still in boxes (so I could recycle the cardboard), did a load of dishes and picked up in the kitchen -- which included some rearranging, to make room for our new Sunbeam Hot Shot. I can't wait to finally try it out. Maybe I'll have tea later on...

Yeah, you hear me right -- I've got a cold. (sigh) But using my 'sick in bed' icon isn't all that accurate today, because though I did sleep in a bit, I was up working the rest of the day. But I'm not going to do too much and get worse, believe me! (Been there and done that -- last October, on the Thursday before Halloween. And on Halloween day, for that matter. Anyway, hopefully I learned my lesson, after weeks and weeks of being sick in November!)

I'm not awful at this point. The cold seems to have started out with allergies and asthma (which I'm really not prone to), probably exacerbated by the local inversion -- that became an air pollution advisory. I can't believe how much it's been bothering me, considering I normally don't have to deal with allergies this time of year. (And for those who don't know, during an inversion cold air settles at lower elevations and is trapped there by a layer of warmer air above.) I've been very careful to avoid things that might bring on a cold, but sometimes there's just nothing you can do to stop it. Anyway, sleep seems like a good idea at this point, so I'm off to lie down.

On the other hand, I plan to try and balance this so I can still get the work done that needs doing. Lying in bed all day long seems ridiculous, so I'm going to rest when I'm tired and work when I'm able to. I didn't do much in the way of physical work (aside from the garbage and recycling), so I am taking it pretty easy right now.

I'd love to get well and be able to start working out, so keep your fingers crossed for me! (smile)
