Work. Yes, We Had to Go to the Office Today!

While on our way to the coast today, I got a call on my cell phone from Jeff.

The server was down at the office, and he wondered if I could walk him through getting it back up again.

The short answer was 'no' -- but Marilyn mistressmarilyn and I assured him we'd go in to the office when we got back from our trip. (We were more than half-way there, so we weren't ready to turn around and head back at that point...)

We got tied up in bad traffic coming home. (There was an accident on the highway.) Anyway, happily we made it to the office and 45 minutes later had the Server back up and running again. Marilyn worked for another 15 minutes, so we spent a couple hours in traffic and at the office!

Actually, without Marilyn's help, I'd never have managed what needed to be done! I don't want to ignore her sizable contribution. We sure make a great team! (smile)

Anyway, I'm not complaining, considering we had such a nice three-day weekend.

(But it is interesting how often I get phoned for IT-related emergencies...)

Really, I'm pleased with all I've learned about IT during the past year and a half. It never fails to amaze me. And it's certainly a savings when I can go in and take care of situations like this one. So it's all good!

Time for bed. Tomorrow is a big day!
