So, yeah, I'm (still) sick...
How sick am I?
Well, I just had my first sips of liquid (water, in this case) since early this morning (and it's now 1:30 p.m.). I took some medicine and a potassium tablet Marilyn mistressmarilyn gave me.
I haven't felt like watching TV, reading, being on the computer or even sitting up. I'm not hungry or thirsty, but I'll force down this water. (At least my sore throat isn't so bad that it hurts to swallow.)
I did eat quite a bit yesterday, though. Both at our potluck and last night here at home. There was food, food and more food! And in spite of being sick, I had a great Halloween!
Today the poor cats were so glad to see Marilyn get back home from her hair appointment. They've been on the bed driving me mildly nuts for hours, trying to get me up. I vaguely recall climbing out of bed at one point to encourage them to play somewhere else, then giving up on that to crawl back under the covers. But almost all I've done today is sleep. Seriously.
I'm glad I was able to get my news item coded and FTP-ed yesterday morning at work (four coded page per any news item, as always). It was the only real work I got done, but it needed to go up. And now I don't need to worry about getting it done. Good deal!
I doubt I'll feel like starting NaNo today, but I was having marvelous dreams that might work into my novel. So it's all good!
We had 75 Treat or Treaters last night!!!
Last year, 2007, our total was 60 and in 2006 we had 74, so this was really good. Of course, we now give out three pieces of candy (they're so small now), so I'd think we might even get more than that. But most of our friends were getting around 20, so I'm not complaining, believe me.
I need to download photos to share, because our John McCain/Sarah Palin costumes were a huge hit. It was so funny to see the reaction of parents when they were greeted at the door by Sarah Palin! And surprising to see how many KIDS recognized her! How fun.
We didn't end up going to the local gathering (that started at 10:00 p.m.) for NaNo. I just didn't feel up to it. Marilyn headed over there, but there was no place close to park and it wasn't a neighborhood she felt comfortable walking around in ALONE so late at night. She would have had to park several blocks away. She phoned me on her cell and I discouraged her from doing it. I didn't like her being out driving late on Halloween as it was, so I certainly didn't want her to walk alone to this gathering. Happily, she decided to just come home again. We were both sorry not to meet the other local participants, but maybe we'll get another chance later on.
By the way, if you're doing NaNoWriMo this year, please feel free to add both of us to your buddy list:
You'll see the 'add as buddy' link on the left-hand side of the page (under the user photo).
I'd love to add a bunch of you, too, so do let me know if you're doing NaNo, please!
Well, I can barely type without leaving out a bunch of letters, so I think I'll go lie back down (this time on the couch in the living room). Have a good weekend, everyone!
Yes, I'm Sick. How Sick Am I? And NaNoWriMo 2008!
