Marilyn mistressmarilyn, Jessica, sister Sue and I drove to Long Beach, Washington.
We used to spend a lot of time there as kids, back when Grandpa Ed would get the whole family to go together on clam digging trips. I remember playing with our Barbie dolls in the sand. (smile) And buying comic books in the drug store...
This was Jessica's first visit to Long Beach, where we visited Marsh's Free Museum -- and Jake, the Alligator Man (grin).
Yeah, Jess had seen the bumper stickers about Jake before, but hadn't known what it was all about -- until now! Whacky, isn't he? (grin)

The museum is full of fabulous vintage and antique machines and exhibits! So much fun to view...
For example, Jess and the vintage pinball machine
Many -- even most -- of these still work, too!

And we saw the Long Beach giant fry pan, too!

We had lunch at Dooger's Seafood Restaurant. (Yes, we also like this place in Cannon Beach.) I can't believe they don't have a website, but it's true! (No photos, sorry!) Great seafood, but no surprise considering we were right at the beach. (smile)
After that we went down to the boardwalk. As you can tell from the pictures, the weather was beautiful! Blue skies and quite warm. It's often windy (well, breezy, anyway) here -- but not today!

On the way to Long Beach, we saw a herd of ELK by the side of the road. So Sue pulled over and I jumped out to take a few quick shots!
Oh, yes, we all had a fabulous time!
After Long Beach, we headed over to Seaside, Oregon -- but that's another story. (I'll save it for a separate entry...)
