Summer Board Meeting -- Was a Success! And I'm Starting to Get It...

Marilyn's mistressmarilyn Summer Board Meeting (well, the festival's meeting) was a success! That's very good news, as we both had huge reservations heading toward it this week...

Marilyn wore a fabulous new dress that she got months ago -- and she looked great! (I hope someone got good photos to share...)

One of my goals today was to stay in my pajamas all day long (grin), which I managed to do! Yes, I still did a bunch of work, but I never got dressed to do it.

While Marilyn was at her meeting, I tried out what I've been learning about designing websites without using tables. Is a very alien concept to me, as I first learned HTML years back -- and it was all done with tables at the time. But it's been my goal for ages now to learn how to use CSS sans tables, and I'm finally getting it!

I must admit that it's due to a wonderful book. (I'll share the title and links later. But I highly recommend it, if you want to learn how.) The author really explains things well. I've tried to comprehend this before with little or no success...

Frankly, excuse me while I brag a bit, but I'm starting to get CSS better all the time. I've been able to use it for ages, but never got some of the more complicated aspects. But now I'm on my way to being able to use it here at LJ more often -- and that's a good thing!

I guess my PowerPoint presentation for tonight's meeting turned out okay. It was nothing fancy, but my background image (that I mentioned HERE) got some attention again. Plus they showed the KGW footage that used that same graphic, so I can afford to be proud in this instance. (I still can't believe that my graphic has been used and circulated so widely. I like to think my high school art teacher would be pleased. She always wanted me to pursue my artist talents...

Speaking of Gertrude (that's her name), I used her (again) as a character in my recent Writing Circle story. This time I used both first and last name. What the hell, I think she'd approve! Bless her. She was an amazing teacher and friend.

Well, it's 1:30 (almost), so I'm off to bed!
