Advanced Customization!

I finally did it! (smile)

Okay, just for the record, I certainly have no clue how to write the code myself.

For me, the whole layers customization is akin to programming, and I've never been able to do that.

Sure, I have a working knowledge of DOS. Back in 'the old days' (grin), if you didn't know some DOS, you couldn't use a computer!

Obviously I understand the basics of HTML code. And I'm improving all the time with CSS, too.

But some coding here at LiveJournal simply can't be done without using the Advance Customization option. That's all there is to it!

I didn't use it here, for my personal blog. I used it for the festival-related blog I've been working on.

A very kind helper -- who can code, thankfully -- told me the exact code to remove the 'Friends' link. It worked like a charm!

Now I'm hoping to do some more tweaking there -- with his continued help, of course.

(Why-oh-why didn't I take algebra in school? No matter that I sucked at all forms of mathematics! Suddenly I understand why I needed it! Strings? Variables? Greek to me!)

Thankfully with helpers around, I don't need to write the code myself! Good thing...

Well, I need to get back to work. The deadline looms larger than ever.

Marilyn mistressmarilyn asked me last night if I still post to seasonal_icons. I told her that I'd like to -- if I could find some free time to make some icons! (grin)

By the way, Henry goes to the vet late this afternoon... Poor sick little guy! As I type this he's sitting in my lap -- where he's been since 8:00 this morning. (A bit maddening, to say the least.)
