Rob Lowe Is A Freak -- NOT In A Good Way

Have you seen Rob Lowe's DirecTV commercials?

Trust me, you couldn't forget those creepy commercials once you've seen them -- no matter how hard you try!

WHY would ANYONE do those awful commercials? Marilyn said she hopes he's being paid a tremendous amount of money to ruin his career. After seeing all these horrid 'Rob Lowes,' I just wish he'd GO AWAY -- and never make me see him again. (I actually hate that I was ever a fan of this actor. He played in some roles I really loved, but if I never see them again, it will be too soon.)

No. These aren't 'amusing' or 'clever' commercials. I can barely stand seeing them -- and there are apparently a bunch of different versions. (I won't describe them, because they truly repel me. But I'm sure if you google it, you can view at least one version at YouTube.)

Every single time I see one of those commercials I shudder and wonder WHY? How desperate for work or money does someone have to be??? Just ugh. Only a freak could do this crap. And I feel bad comparing freaks to Lowe. Seriously.

If there is supposed to be humor here, it's clearly lost on me...

Website Work and So On...

I cleaned up the kitchen and did a load of dishes today. Plus I really picked up the living room, too.

And I did a bunch of festival website work. Mostly involving our Sanctioned Events program, which Rich staffs. When we created the new website, somebody decided we didn't need a Sanctioned Events page. I'm not sure why -- and I totally disagree with that decision. But as of today we have a work-around that should be fine (at least for now). It wasn't simple by any means, but neither was it that hard to do.

I also checked in with John at Fish, making sure he (finally) set up Christine's account as an Administrator. Hey, that was supposed to happen last Friday, but whatever. It's a good thing I looked into it, huh?

Then I tackled our Volunteer page, which is a bit complicated. Just FINDING the form part of that page was... interesting, to say the least! And then making changes and making them STICK was another issue. Yeah, yeah -- I could have emailed or called Fish, but I'd tried calling John early in the day, and didn't get an email back until past five. I just need to get in and figure it out, if I can! And I did, so it's all good.

I took care of a bunch of email work. I wrote to Kris twice. Once about IT tasks and then later about our SonicWALL contract. I hope I hear back from him soon!

Donn and I talked at length -- about the computer he's doing for sister Sue, and also about work.

He had wanted to do the computer TOMORROW -- and Sue was supposed to phone me after cribbage tonight. I don't know how I'm suppose to set this up (for them), unless I have time to communicate with both of them! So annoying. Sue currently has computer issues, and she needs Donn's help...

June and I talked, but I didn't go over. I was having an issue, and couldn't go out. I do want to go over and see her, though.

I also need to get down to see our neighbor Gladys at some point. I've never taken Christmas to her, yet -- nearly a month later!

Fitbit Update: Marilyn's Fitbit did something weird early in the day -- we had to reset it tonight! Which means that even though she did a TON of walking during the day, she missed all those steps!!! Annoying! We've only had these devices for a week, so we were pretty upset about it. At least removing and replacing the battery didn't dump her previous stats! Anyway, Marilyn did 5,755 today (obviously PLUS!!!). And I did 3,263. (Her current daily goal is 5,000 and mine is 3,000.)

The Fitbit App doesn't work well, I'm afraid. It's especially a bitch on the iPhone, and a little better with the iPad. We can't sync with our home computers, because it won't work with WinXP.

I copied and organized the Roosevelt High Scool Alumni Association (RHSAA) files on a jump drive for Marilyn. My new external seems to be working fine -- but this thing where I can't use it with one of the front USB ports is a major pain in the ass. I'm not kidding! (sigh)

I had an email from Tim (RHSAA) about using WordPress. I have to admit I wasn't encouraging him to do so. I'm not sure where WordPress got this rep as being 'easy' to use, but I don't agree with that... But he doesn't need to listen to me! If he has support for WP, then go for it!

Well, I'm probably forgetting something (no doubt!), but hopefully nothing important.
