Slightly 'Off' Today...

I did get a bunch of festival work done today, much of it website-related. But I felt slightly 'off' -- which is the best I can do to describe it. Kind of mildly depressed, which I think is related to my low estrogen issues. I know sooner or later I'll get my hormones in balance again and everything will be fine -- so I'm not worried about it. It just is what it is for now...

Donn and I talked several times today, dealing with some IT issues.

It's interesting that I think of the website stuff as pretty easy, while IT seems more annoying and difficult than ever. I know I'm very much needed to manage IT for the festival -- and it's never going to be that easy to replace me in that role, frankly. But some days IT just makes me nuts. This was one of those days...

Marilyn didn't get home until after 8:00 p.m. tonight (!!!). She's asleep on the sofa, which is no surprise to me. She's had such a rough week -- and today was another difficult day. She has a late night tomorrow night, too, I'm afraid. I bet she's looking forward to the weekend!

Today was garbage and recycling (the real deal). I still have a little bit to take out, but I got it done reasonably early this week (for a change). I also cleaned up in the kitchen and did dishes today...

Oh! And I finally got to give the mailman his Christmas goodies. I'd put a bag out for him, but the weekend guy took it! Really??? In past years the weekend person would make sure my normal mailman got whatever was put out. I suppose I should just plan for both of them, but the weekend relief person is rarely the same from week to week (or month to month). Oh well. At least my regular guy got what we'd planned for him!

I took the stuff for June over to her today and she was pleased. She's going through a difficult time with a family member right now, so she and her husband Jim could use all the good thoughts and prayers that anyone cares to send their way. I feel so bad for her...

Hopefully I'll go through more clothing soon -- and have additional stuff for both sister Sue and June. June was surprised I gave her some of the things, but as I told her, I hadn't worn them in ages, so it was time to let someone else enjoy them! I hope they ended up fitting her. (The same for what I gave Sue.) It makes me feel good to both cut back the stuff I have here, and to share stuff with people I love. That seems pretty perfect to me!

I got very upset with Facebook today. I went to post there, and was logged out. When I logged in I got this message: Friend Requests Blocked for 7 Days
We received feedback that you sent multiple friend requests to people you don't know, so you won't be able to send friend requests for 7 days. To keep this from happening again, please only send friend requests to people you know.

What hypocritical crap! Facebook is constantly 'recommending' friends -- but it keeps you from potentially making new friends. I don't see why people can't just deny your request WITHOUT reporting you, as if you'd committed a crime wanting to be friends! I think that's utterly ridiculous, personally. What kind of world is this where I get treated this way -- so that I get upset and feel bad -- when all I did was try to 'friend' someone at a social media site? I was ready to forget about Facebook over this, but I've cooled down. And Marilyn is right, I do enjoy my interactions there. One person said: The whole process is fuckerd! Me think's Charlie has more friends on the planet than they have room for:-)

Isn't that sweet? (smile)

A lot of people said nice -- or funny -- things to me. Showing once again that it's about the people, not the site!

Well, I'm off to read my Kindle and nap. I can't believe it's after 10:00 p.m. -- where did this day go???

You know, reading more comments over at Facebook actually cheered me up! (smile) You can't keep me from feeling cheerful for very long, that's for sure!
