thumbs up

Jessica's Birthday!

Marilyn and I took a ride down to Sauvie Island (as I mentioned we might yesterday -- well, Friday, as it's now early Sunday). We had hot dogs and corn on the cob and didn't mind the light rain.

We then drove to Vernonia (Oregon) for the ride. When we got back I CRASHED (I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open riding back home) for a nap -- and Marilyn watched TV.

I got up just before 7:00 p.m. to start dinner. I made a chicken rice casserole, but not my usual recipe, as I was out of a couple of ingredients. By the newest version turned out quite good (if I do say so myself), even so. I also made a salad and opened black and green olives. Plus we had buns and butter.

We bought Jessica a cake, but she doesn't eat cake (???), so Marilyn and I had some after she went home... We got her the coolest candle holder thing (quite large, really) at a Saturday market today as her present. I took a photo, but haven't downloaded it yet...

Anyway, the three of us did go to see "Super 8" and enjoyed it very much! I highly recommend the movie to anyone wondering if they want to go or not.

We talked for quite some time when we got back home. We don't get to see Jessica that much anymore, so there was a lot to share...

Anyway, we're now headed to bed (it's after 4:00 a.m.). We had a LOVELY day -- and it was great to be off work!

Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny. We'll see how it goes and play the day entirely by ear.
