Still the Webmaster? Looks Like It...

Interesting news yesterday... It looks like I might be retaining the title and role as Webmaster for the festival for 2010 after all. It's not 100% official at this point, but I've already known for weeks that I'd be keeping up the work through 2009 (and not stopping at the end of our fiscal year, which is the end of this month).

That would also mean continuing to do the eNewsletters (and eBulletins), as well.

I was never keen on the idea of giving up the website, but Marilyn mistressmarilyn had finally managed to talk me into it. And I have to admit that I was looking forward to having some extra time on my hands. Doesn't that figure? I fight giving it up for ages. Then I finally accept it and now it's not happening. I'm not sure whether to be happy or disappointed.

We'll be making some CHANGES to the website this year, that's for sure! I'm determined that I'll be spending far less time on it, no matter what. I appreciate that it's important and that I do a good job with it, but it's also a black hole when it comes to the time spent on it and I'm not going to let it suck me dry this year. I'm sure we can work something out that will satisfy everyone. I won't say make everyone happy, because there's no pleasing everyone EVER with any website -- that's a given. I'm so over trying, by the way.

I've told several people that I'd be done with it soon -- and have free time for other projects. So it's going to be interesting to tell those people about this. (Poor Donn. I've promised and promised to find time to work with him, and I never seem to do it...)

Meanwhile, there's plenty of IT Manager work on my plate, especially with the current office move. Tomorrow should be a hugely busy day. (sigh)

I've still got a cough and am still 'under the weather' from this flu. But I worked two days last weekend and will work tomorrow and Saturday, come hell or high water. You can do what you need to if you put your mind to it.

I have an eBulletin to put out (and am working on it), so I'd better get back to it. I'd RATHER be writing and making icons, though... (Or taking another long nap.)
