"The Dark Knight" and NaNoWriMo Update.

Yes. Marilyn mistressmarilyn and I did go to see "The Dark Knight" in second run -- and we each had a beer while we watched it (plus popcorn), too! So, how about those apples? (smile)

That last sentence is probably a reflection of my NaNo novel, by the way. ('Two shakes of a lamb's tail...')

Here's my current word count:

Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter
46,597 / 50,000

Yes, I have another 3,403 words to go, which I think I'll be able to make tomorrow.

We have another local NaNo gathering at 2:00 p.m., so I hope I'll have some decent count by then...

Time for bed. Yes, we're actually going to try getting to bed before 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. for the first time in more than two weeks... (grin)

It's hard to stop writing, but it's probably a good thing. We were finding that taking breaks was helping us today, so...

I need to congratulate all of my many friends who have already won NaNo, which I'll probably wait and do on Monday. Just so you guys know, I'm very proud of all of you!

Of course, I'm proud of all my friends who participated, too. It's not just about winning, after all...

NaNoWriMo Gathering and Update!

We went to the local NaNo gathering, with everyone eating and writing away! (grin)

Now we're back home to work again. Actually, both Marilyn mistressmarilyn and I did around 1,800 words (weird how we tend to write the same amount of words in any given time), PLUS we ate a meal, during the two hours we were there. As Marilyn has said over and over again, you can write 1,000 per hour pretty comfortably. And that seems to be true for us. She thinks a person should be able to write 8,000 in a work day (eight hours), but I feel that would be pretty difficult for most people (including us). But what generally trips us up word-count-wise is the breaking to do research and novel notes...

Anyway, here's my current word count (according to NaNo):

Zokutou word meterZokutou word meter
48,397 / 50,000

So I have 1,603 words left to go. (Or well under two hours of work.)

I'm heading back to it, as we're thinking we'll go to Starbucks (to celebrate) and then shopping, after we're finally done.

NaNoWriMo WINNER for 2008!

2008 Winner!

I've been done since around 6:00 p.m. (I think), but I waited for Marilyn mistressmarilyn to post my winning entry.

How exciting!

And now we can go shopping, if we feel like it.

I loved the experience, but I'm actually a little sick of writing right now, I have to admit. I'm in the mood to do graphics (icons, anyone?) or coding (so what's new, huh?) or even (shocker!) to play games (Zuma???).

But it was a blast -- and only took Marilyn and me a week and one day...
