autumn sunshine

Congratulations, Mitch!

My friend Mitch phoned me today -- on his new cell phone from the desk of his new job!

Go, Mitch!

I mentioned here that he'd passed his real estate test, but there was a hold up with his license -- they thought his background check had expired...

Anyway, I'm very excited for him!

We still haven't celebrated him passing his test -- so now we need to also celebrate him getting his new job! I'm so happy for him.

Marilyn mistressmarilyn is giving a toast in honor of our friend Wayne -- who died last weekend -- at the board meeting tonight. I hope it goes well for her...

Saturday we're going to Judy's house for a gathering in honor of Wayne. (Judy is Wayne's wife.)

And next weekend we're going to OryCon.

NaNoWriMo 2006

I spent time today re-reading my NaNo novel (started in 2005) in preparation for working on it again this year.

Finally!

What's amazing is how much of it I'd forgotten! It was like reading a book I'd never seen before. (grin)

Except that I wrote the thing in the first place, of course! (smile)

After reading it I finally started writing for Nano 2006 -- at long last.

I don't know how I'll do this year, but at least I'm working on my novel again -- and that's a good thing. I seriously want to finish it and consider trying to get it published. That may sound far-fetched, but I think I've got something here...

Here's my current word count. (No. It's not much!)

I hope I can do some writing this weekend...

In other news, Marilyn mistressmarilyn didn't get home until past midnight. She didn't even eat the dinner I heated up for her, but fell fast asleep on the sofa in the family room. Small wonder, considering what a long day she had!
