Very quickly, as I'm busy writing on my NaNo novel...
I just wanted to jump in and say hello to niniel_amaya, the latest new friend here at LJ. Thanks for adding me -- I was excited to add you back!
Marilyn mistressmarilyn and I are trying to 'wrap up' our NaNo novels, seeing how much we can finish today...
I need to write approximately 10,000 more words at this point. Marilyn needs around 5,000. Neither of us seem too worried with that amount. At some point I really need to sit and discuss this at length. It's been an 'interesting' month, to say the least! (smile)
Briefly, writing 50,000 has been far easier than I'd ever have guessed. And in some cases, a bit more difficult, too. But the words have seriously just seemed to 'flow' much of the time.
You know how people always speak of books writing themselves? This is more true than I'd have guessed! Sometimes my book just seems to decide which way to go, no matter what my basic outline might be... (grin)
Well, back to it! I hope all is well with my lovely flist! (December is almost here! Hard to believe...)
Yes, I didn't quite stick to my personal NaNoWriMo schedule the last few days. (smile) Marilyn mistressmarilyn was much better than I've been, but we both spent a lot of time watching TV and movies and playing computer games, among other holiday-type pursuits...
My current total is:
43,130 / 50,000
That means I have another 7,000 words to go. Which means, by the way, that I've written around 3,000 words since I posted earlier today (around noon). Of course, after writing around 1,800 words or so, Marilyn and I went for Starbucks and took a long drive up the Gorge. Then we came home and had dinner (lunch?) and I watched some TV before hitting it again. LOL. So you can probably guess I'm still not worried about making the November 30th deadline... (grin)
Marilyn is currently at 45,139 words. My 'writing buddy' femminismo (her NaNo name) has already FINISHED the challenge! (Click on her name to go see what they do when you 'win' NaNo! It's very, very exciting!)
We want to run over to the bookstore and do Starbucks again (if you can believe that), so I think we might do that now. We could come back and get another thousand or so words done tonight, I'm sure. (If not more.)
Don't worry about me -- by hook or by crook I'll be done before Wednesday!
I'm delighted to say that I've only written one piece of my novel that I find I'm entirely unable to use. Interestingly enough, it's the very first thing I wrote, that was 731 words long. (I've already taken some of that and put it into other pieces, knowing I'd just ditch it as containing a concept that just won't work with other elements of the book...)
Okay, so before I get into discussing my novel at greater length, I'll end now! More later. (Hopefully a count update!)
