Yikes! PSP Moderation!

Okay, my bad, I know. I've barely been 'around' online this week...

Frankly, I won't be around much now until the end of the Festival (end of June). I'll probably just be too busy with work (and our horrible hours) to find the time...

But I just came on (at 1:30 a.m., no less) to a bunch of moderation things...

There was one entry that had to be deleted, period. Another that shouldn't be there, I suspect. And some snarky crap that should be handled (???). Kevin kevinr, do you have time to check it over? (I'll write you via email and let you know more details... sigh...)

I'm dead tired and must head to bed.

Tomorrow is a big day! Up very early. Marilyn mistressmarilyn starts her day with an early morning meeting. I start mine with an hour of watering the brand new 'over-seeding' that was done today! (Naturally we're not having the normal rainy season at all that's good for new grass this time of year...)

Then I'll rush around and try to get more script work done, while Marilyn's in meetings at work. She picks me up at noon to come 'in office' for until time for the annual Spring Board Meeting rehearsal and set-up in the afternoon!

Then the Board Meeting. We'll leave that early (around 7 p.m.) to head out with two other staff members (plus a girlfriend on one of the guys) to go to the Kid Rock concert! That should run 'til around 10:30 or 11:00! I need to head to bed...

Marilyn's over her flu, but worn out from playing 'catch up' at work. My left eye has been giving me fits. I might have a bad contact lens to blame for that. (Or just eye strain from staring at the computer screen while working on the script, I suppose.)

It's so muggy here today. Sigh.

Well, hope I can 'jump on' for a minute here and there to try and do the moderation! Seems like the other three moderators are all tied up... (I've been there, so I know how that goes! LOL.)

It sounds ridiculous, but I suspect we could use another mod to help us out. (You'd think four people would be enough, wouldn't you? But we've all got lives that keep us busy, so... LOL. No, I am not whining!)

Nite, nite!

...when did my LJ go 'unpaid' (yet again)???

I thought I just paid this thing for another couple of months!

Wow. There's so many expenses lately...

I'll have to try and get to it one of these days.

I can't deal with only three icons!

(Poor me. ROFL. Right.)

That is all! Off to bed...

[EDIT: Paid it all up. Plus extra userpics/icons. Six months worth! Good deal. No worries for six months...]

Watering the Lawn...

Check it out! It's only six hours later and I'm back! LOL.

Well, I'm sleepy as I type this, but I'll survive. Hell, what am I complaining about? I got another hour of sleep after Marilyn mistressmarilyn had headed off to work! (Meaning she'd been up for at least an hour to get ready for work before she departed, so I got at least two hours more sleep than she did!)

She never fails to amaze me, frankly!

It's absolutely impossible to begin to describe what her day is like. How incredibly busy and full. She mentioned to me yesterday that she never has a single moment of the day now where she's alone in her office. Someone is always in there wanting something...

She was telling me how all the signing gets her down. Right now she's the only one qualified to look over and sign the mulititude of contracts and checks that need signing each and every day. Susie (her new boss) doesn't know enough (as yet) to be able to tell what's okay to sign off on... Marilyn was saying how Dick (her old boss) used to take piles of those things home each night to do. She doesn't want to start bringing that home with her! (Considering she's never home before 7:00 p.m. even on days when she starts with meetings at 7:00 a.m., I can't say as I blame her...)

We went to our friend Gail's retirement party last night. She worked 40 years in banking alone! (She was pretty enough to have been a sort of 'bank model' for years--in their ads--and also to be a 'hostess' at new bank openings way back when...)

Gail is one of our friends who has been fighting cancer for some time now. (Three years? Four?) She's had such a rough go...

The party was held at a restaurant that Marilyn and I have never set foot in before! It was, however, one of our parents' favorite places to eat! We'd wondered if it would be a sit-down dinner, and were looking forward to ordering steak (they have some of the best in town). But it was 'finger food.'

I drank two glasses of white wine and felt giddy as I'd eaten very little yesterday (too busy). Marilyn had one glass of red wine and then we both switched to diet cola...

The finger food was quite good, I have to admit! It included the restaurant's famous onion rings. I should avoid onion rings as I'm sensitive (very) to onions (unless well-cooked). But what the hell! I love them and ate them anyway. (Paid later with minor indigestion, but it was worth it.)

Gail was delighted we came--as if we'd miss it! She had quite a crowd (in one of their 'banquet' rooms). The service there is astounding, by the way!

Well, I need to go out and bring in our recycling bins and huge garbage can--then get to the watering!

Then back in to clean up and start on the script. (I must get a ton done this morning before I depart, as I won't be able to work on it again this weekend... sigh.)

As for this weekend (!!!), we totally spaced the timing of the St. Johns Parade! It's not next weekend, but this one! (No link to it, as it's a small local parade that clearly doesn't have a website... Or so I just found when I tried to google it...)

Marilyn and I lived much of our lives in the St. Johns community. It's on the peninsula, way out in North Portland. It used to be a city, way back when!

The parade's been going on annually since we were kids. It's one of the only 'community-type' parades that hasn't gone under over the years!

Marilyn came up with the theme in theme contest one year (I forget which year): Mardi Gras in May. (Good theme, no?)

She rode in the parade in high school when she was Junior Miss, too. LOL.

(Actually, we both got to ride in part of it one year. We were standing in our usual spot watching. Our Rose Festival car--white with big logos on the side--had been commandeered for the parade. So when it reached us, it stopped and we got in--so we could drive off at the end of the parade! We didn't want to have to go hunting for it in the disband area... It was interesting! Just shows people will wave at anyone and anything that appears in a parade! ROFL. They certainly waved at us, anyway!)

It's one of the first public appearances annually of our Rose Festival court, and we always show up for it. (And to see the Rosarians and other people we know.)

Hell, it's tradition!

When we lived in our last house, we weren't far from the high school we both attended. That school was the formation area for the parade! So every year we'd have bands forming right outside our house. (We fell inside the formation area, in other words.)

But we've been attending it long before our connection to Rose Festival! Most of our lives, obviously...

I guess I also find it interesting from a special events perspective. (Considering we work on parades, it's hard to look at it without that. LOL.)

Well, stalling is officially over! Off to water!

Hugs to all my friends...
