I just validated my WIN for NaNoWriMo for 2018. I can't believe I made my 50,000 words on day 25. How about that?
I owe a lot to Marilyn who was a huge inspiration and help, as she always is. Frankly, I'm not sure I would have ever become much of a writer at all without her. For much of my life she's been inspiring and teaching me. And it means more than I can ever say.
I do plan to actually finish this book -- with a lot of help from Marilyn! I've liked books I've started in the past, but I never did anything with them. This one I hope will be different...
NaNo does push us to at least try. Marilyn and I both believe you should be able to write 2,000 words a day. Assuming that's all you need to do! (I think it's pretty hard to do when the festival is looming, or in full swing. But that's another story...)
I'm really glad we did this in 2018. Again, that's thanks to Marilyn, who suggested it in the first place. I would never have considered it without her!
This has been a very tough year for us, so this WIN means even more than it usually would. And after encephalitis and brain injury, I feel pretty blessed to finish anything of this nature.
In this case winning might just be giving it a try in the first place...
