I woke up at 6:00 this morning. Marilyn had her exec meeting this morning, so I got an early day at the office.
It was a long day...
Sarah's last day. Now it's up to Kara (pronounced care-ah)! I need to continue working with her, especially on the phones.
Marilyn and I left work slightly early planning to drive to Salem to hear Eric Witchey giving a seminar on how to manage and manipulate subtext, using his background in linguistic discourse analysis and experience in 12 genres to demonstrate how to manage narrative and dialog to imply story that is not part of the explicit text. We haven't heard him in years and were looking forward to it.
We got home and had a terrible downpour. And then another one. Several downpours later I went downstairs and discovered we had flooding.
We had already decided against the drive because of the weather conditions, but the flooding clinched it. Soon we were outside putting up a new tarp (the old one had worn through). And tending to the flooding inside the house.
June phoned and they were having awful flooding!!! Marilyn had been immediately concerned because June and Jim are currently getting a new roof put on...
Talked to June about her iPad, then went over and fixed a few problems. Finally came home to have dinner. I was hungry and tired...
Couldn't bring myself to wash my hair. Instead I was just lying around with Johnnie. It was SO COLD in my bedroom! Turned out the upper window slid down, so several inches were actually open! Too chilly for that.
Marilyn had her special meeting today.
I got 10,000 steps today. Hard to believe, but true!
It's nearly three, so I need to try and SLEEP. I have an ice pack on, as my shingles feel on fire tonight.
The pain varies all the time. I can't believe how it hurts, even after all these months. Yeah, it sucks.
Marilyn and I both think Colin has a crush on Johnnie. Johnnie isn't having any of it. But maybe Johnnie is getting a little better. Hard to say.
