Marilyn did an excellent job speaking at Ron's memorial today. She's such an excellent public speaker -- so professional. But in this case, she manages exactly the right tone. With genuine emotion and affection, humor, warmth -- she had it all. (Generally she blows everyone else out of the water. She rarely ever makes a mistake -- today she made none.) She also looked wonderful. She was wearing her new polka dot dress, which is so nice. And she just got her hair done, and it looked great.
Mark had been pushing her to speak, and he was so grateful that she did.
I got very emotional during her speaking and started to cry. We will miss Ron.
Again, he was younger than I am. We've been losing many friends lately.
Jeff was late, but did make it.
We sat with Rita, Bud, Gail, Dan and Jeff (when he got there). We had Bud Light with our meal. It was out at Edgefield
, which Marilyn and I love.
It seems like whenever we go there, it's horribly hot -- it was in the high 90's today!
