It was a LOVELY DAY at the beach house! We took a nice ride into Cannon Beach and had coffee at Bella Espresso (we'd only been there once before). It's tucked away and has nice ambiance. (The actual coffee is so-so.)
I must RAVE about the weather on our mini-vacation! Blue skies and NO RAIN. Lovely.
We drove over to Manzanita after that. It was such a nice drive!
We got food from Taco Time and headed back home in time to see Roger win the BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells) by defeating Stan Wawrinka 6-4, 7-5. This is the fifth time he's won there. Marilyn and I are both huge Federer fans (and not fond of Wawrinka), so we were delighted.
Then we took our fuzzy blankets that we got especially for the beach (like the others we have here in Portland, but more 'beachy' blue colors) upstairs and laid on top of Marilyn's bed in her sunny bedroom. We were playing with our iPads a bit and she was reading out loud, but I went to sleep almost immediately. She napped, too, but not very long.
After that refreshing nap, we packed up, took out the garbage and then headed back to Portland. It was a pretty quiet drive home.
We got here in time to see "Time After Time" with Josh Bowman as Jack the Ripper. We're entertained, even if we don't agree with the writing. It might help to have someone who had at least a tiny bit of background in the period involved. Hahaha. They wanted to depart from the original book (and movie) and have done that, but some of their 'facts' for the series are pretty off base. Oh well. We're ignoring the bad history lesson and enjoying Josh's portrayal of John -- which is very entertaining!
I'm staying home tomorrow to work on the festival website in peace and quiet (I hope!). I'll be in on both Tuesday and Wednesday to train new people. (Donn's coming in on Tuesday, too.)
I'm sure it will be another busy week.
The cats were a tad unhappy with us when we got home. Obviously they did miss us. But they seemed just fine, aside from that. They still had food and water and all was well here.
Well, off to bed! I hope you all sleep well.
