She went in to work as always today and worked until past noon. Then she came home and called the doctor for me. (I just couldn't face trying to deal with the people on the front desk without a voice. They're hard enough when you can talk.)
They were able to squeeze me in a 5:00 p.m. to see a new doctor (well, for me, anyway), Dr. Columb.
I had a miserable day. Even though I hadn't eaten anything, I was throwing up! I guess my meds, as it happened right after I took them. I've got a bad sore throat today and headache and I actually ache all over. I'm feverish and fitful (too hot/too cold) and my eyes (yes, both) are driving me crazy.
Marilyn did get us some food, but I couldn't eat that much. But I sure enjoyed the peach tea! Mostly I've been sticking to warm water, and that's about it.
I was lying around most of the day. At one point Colin made it very clear to me that he wanted to be FED, as I hadn't done that!!! Poor guy.
Marilyn and I took naps before the doctor and then woke late and had to rush to get there in time. Which didn't matter, as I wasn't called back for another half hour. I get it, as I was being added out of kindness.
The good news is that I do NOT have pink eye after all! I just have an infection related to my virus. My blood pressure was really GOOD today (woo hoo). And I think my weight was down from the last time I was there (but not as low as it has been at home -- oh well). My blood sugar has been a little high -- not horrible, for the most part. But illness and pain shoot it up.
I think if it hadn't been for my diabetes that she might NOT have given me an antibiotic! Good grief. What would be the point of going in there at all if not to get that???
We watched American Ninja Warrior and the new Spartan show after it (but I was 'resting my eyes' during the second show). I'm so puny!
She says the laryngitis could last as long as two more weeks (!!!). And she wants me to stay down and rest for the remainder of this week. I feel like somebody stabbed me in the throat (yes, the sore throat is that bad).
In other bad news, Marilyn told me that our friend June had taken a fall (and that she and Jim hadn't been able to go to the parade -- which explains why I could never see them there). I hope she's okay!!!
Sister Sue left us a nice message after the parade. And I got a nice email from cousin Linda, too.
Well, I'm heading for bed. There's nothing much else to report. I'm doing very little sitting up right now. This is actually tiring, believe it or not.
But the meds should help, so hopefully I'll feel much better in a couple of days...
Got a GREAT note from Jeff in the mail! A thank you for the donation after his appeal. He addressed it to Marilyn and Charlie (AKA BITCHES). Hahahahahaha. I love him. For those who may not remember, when we got his appeal letter, he wrote: Bitches, give me some money!
I think pain pills might be necessary at this point... (sigh)
Sleep well AND STAY HEALTHY, friends!
