First off, Marilyn worked until 10:00-ish WITHOUT A BREAK (she got Starbucks and a couple candy bars and that was it for today). She had eight meetings and was dealing with some 500+ emails that needed her attention -- plus tons of other work to get done. So she stayed and accomplished a ton! Her email was just over 100! You go, Marilyn!!!
She stopped on the way home to pick up hot dogs and green beans, and I had the oven (thanks, Donn!) and pot on the burner both heated and waiting when she got here. She went to Freddies, getting there by around 10:30 -- enough time to pick up a few things before heading home, finally.
She got me 'cat water' (those big jugs of water that I use to fill the cats' water bucket), thankfully (I was out), as the cats have been complaining about it, poor things. At least they've gone back to drinking out of water dishes a little bit, which are kept by their food bowls.
We were watching "Jeopardy" around 11:00-ish, both sorry to see Matt lose. Dinner was ready in time for us to eat just before midnight. Marilyn's first meal of the day!
I was having low blood sugar at 10:00 (I was 61!!!), so I had to wolf down a donut and some coffee. I did have something for breakfast, soup for lunch and a sandwich late afternoon. But I guess that wasn't quite enough.
Anyway, before Marilyn headed home, we did finally talk a few times -- very briefly. We were working on some projects that overlapped. So I needed to put a PDF document up at our 'training' website. Marilyn had sent it to me and I'd uploaded it. And I'd coded the index page and uploaded it. But it wouldn't display!!! It was maddening! And when I opened the index page again, it appeared to be BLANK!
I was close to tearing my hair out over this... I certainly didn't want to re-code that page from scratch, considering I didn't even know what all was on the page!
I eventually reasoned it out. It was not my error. It was not about the old software FTP program I use. It was about the hosting service! It's all good now, though.
By the way, I phoned Comcast to change my appointment. So damn annoying!!! Excuse me, but why is it so hard to reach a person??? The automated system apparently doesn't work: It was telling me that I didn't have any appointment set!!! Seriously??? But when I finally got to a person, he confirmed that I did. We changed it to December 12 (a Saturday). That's just going to have to work, that's all there is to it. It's after those two days that I MUST work -- and before Marilyn's oral surgery day.
The automated Comcast system? Sucks. I start out trying to say 'yes' in a normal voice, calmly. But I end up SCREAMING 'YES!!!!!' at the top of my lungs, over and over again! And the automated voice is saying, 'I'm sorry, I didn't quite get that.' By the time a person comes on? I'm ready to take his head off... (sigh) I don't mean to be that way, but half an hour of crap is so annoying.
I actually went outside in the COLD to check on the back yard -- and to put out nectar for the hummingbirds, which I haven't done in ages. But I had a hummer out there, so I wanted to feed him!
We need to work tomorrow -- but the City is going to have guys once again in the women's bathroom, painting tiles! We'll see if we can stand the smell or not (plus the noise of whatever else they'll be doing). (sigh) Why tomorrow???
I'm forgetting things, I'm sure. But I'm dead tired. So that's it for today.
OH!!! I almost forgot to mention: Adeena texted me today, asking if she could take the three sisters out for a movie tonight! Wasn't that sweet? I totally forgot to get back to her again, as I got wrapped up in the IT and website stuff I was doing. But I did tell Sue, who thought it was nice. I still haven't told Marilyn, so I need to remember to do that!
Good night, everyone!
