We did sleep in this morning, which was fine by me. I was up a lot in the middle of the night.
Jeff arrived around noon, so the first thing we did was head to Cannon Beach to have lunch. Our plan was to go to the Lumberyard Rotisserie & Grill
-- which has been a favorite place of ours to eat for years now. (We first visited it for Marilyn's birthday in 2012.) But it was CLOSED. Then getting ready to turn it into Public Coast Brewing
, opening in the spring of 2016. The sign on the building recommended people go to The Wayfarer
, so that's exactly what we did. It's another favorite restaurant of ours, actually.
We got a couple 'bucket drinks' -- and they're using the EXACT SAME BUCKETS that used to be available at the Lumberyard! (surprise) Anyway, we had a very nice (expensive) lunch there, Marilyn's treat. (She told me it was like having room service in New York, if that's any clue! Hahaha.)
We came back and Marilyn and Jeff did some work. I went upstairs to fool around and ending up taking a nap.
Then we watched some TV before heading over to the show to see "The Martian" (which Jeff had never seen before). Jeff was kind enough to pay -- isn't that sweet of him? We had a good time. It's really a great movie, and worth seeing a second time.
We came home and tried to rent one zombie movie, but it kept getting 'stuck' while we tried to play it! We even tried deleting it and buying it a second time! Lousy Charter Cable!!!
Then we bought the zombie movie "Maggie," which was just AWFUL! What a waste of time and money.
It's actually 3:30 a.m. (I'm backdating so this will be my Thursday entry) and we're all three headed to bed.
GET THIS: Colin came downstairs and let Jeff pet him more than one time! And he stuck around and hung out with the three of us (and Henry) for hours! It was like a miracle.
Well, it's pouring down rain right now. Poor Jeff got really wet going to get his bag! Yikes!!! And we're all headed to bed. It was a lovely day at the beach. There are no bad days at the beach, even when it rains. (smile)
Sweet dreams, friends!!!
