We made it to our beach house by 9:00. We were driving here in the dark, rain and even fog part of the time. And some of that rain was really a downpour. But Marilyn did a great job driving.
And the boys were WONDERFUL! They were quiet almost the entire way. Colin cried a little bit at first, but then he settled down and we never heard another peep out of him. My theory? Last trip we tossed out the foam rubber mats we'd had in their crates. So when it was time to pack them up, I grapped a couple pillows and put them under their towels. I think the pillows are more comfortable, and that made them happier with the drive!
It used to be that they especially seemed to dislike riding in the dark, so it was quite a pleasant surprise.
We unpacked when we got here, and I put out Halloween decos. Then we heated up some 'bean-oa' (what we call refried beans mixed with quinoa) and made a pot of green beans and had that for a late dinner.
We decided to get a movie On Demand, and got "The Vatican Tapes" -- a really lousy film. Do NOT waste your time (or money).
The boys are very happy to be here, by the way. And so are we!!! Finally!
I could share the rest of the day (before we finally left for the trip here), but I think I'll just skip it. I did get all the garbage and recyling out (near the garage), thankfully! I did some of it in the middle of the night, and part of it today.
I can hear the roar of the ocean as I type this. Lovely.
