Crazy Busy Day -- Working on Pinnacle Submissions

Our staff meeting today was mainly about Pinnacle Award submissions -- and we're all on a major DEADLINE to get these ready to mail on Friday!!! We still have a LOT to get done. And just about everybody in the office is working on them.

Starbucks this morning (I had HOT tea for my poor throat).

Jeff is out (of course) because of his wrist -- which is worse than originally thought, by the way. I think Marilyn said it's a minimum of TWELVE WEEKS (!!!) for recovery after surgery. Wow, poor guy.

Marilyn and I got home from work by just past 10:00 p.m. tonight. Gosh, we were both TIRED.

Marilyn didn't have a bite to eat until past 5:00 p.m. (!!!), poor thing. I walked over to McDonald's while she was at her dental appointment (she had her teeth checked over and cleaned). It was hot out and I was in quite a sweat when I got back.

I've got a killer sore throat again tonight, little wonder. There's no way for me not to talk when I'm in the office. It just is what it is. The laryngitis is still bad and my throat is murder. But it is what it is.

We got a TON done on the submissions, anyway. It looks like the Grand Pinnacle stuff is finally done -- first round, anyway! And it's all been sent to Kenny. Hopefully we'll get our first draft from HIM tomorrow, so we can start tweaking it all out. We haven't seen anything, yet. And we're all dying to know what it's going to look like.

I spent ages both hunting photos and writing for this, anyway. The food and beverage program stuff was hard for me to do for some reason. But we do have great stats for 2015, with huge increases over 2014.

I also got the list of Covers I need to work on. I do 'art' covers for various submissions, to try and make them more 'lovely' to look at. (grin) Christine is going to help me create these, so I gave her a basic lesson on how to do that today...

Marilyn wants me to STAY HOME tomorrow, which will be difficult. But I guess I can work on covers here at home (I've certainly done so before!). Anyway, Marilyn gets her hair done tomorrow late afternoon (evening). So this way she can go directly there and not have to come back to the office for me. And I can maybe STAY DOWN again for part of the day and try to rest. I really need to not talk tomorrow. That's not going to happen (I have projects I'll need to discuss via phone), but I'll do my best...

Also, I need to color my own hair. I wonder if I'll feel up to it tomorrow??? I doubt it.

Talked to Donn a couple of times (he called during Staff meeting). He's going to California this Thursday and won't be back until next Friday. I hope he has a nice trip! We'll tackle IT when he gets back. I don't have time for it this week, anyway!

Broke a damn nail today. I guess we need to go get them done this weekend...

The memorial for Thom's wife is on Saturday, so we'll be going to that. Maybe we'll get our nails done after.

I wonder how hard it will be to turn off my brain tonight? Just hyper as heck, there's so much work to think about! I don't know how Marilyn does it! She got so many things to do for the Pinnacle submissions...

Well, off to bed soon, hopefully!
