Today I met and trained Lise (pronounced Lisa), the Waterfront Assistant for 2015 (Linn was in that role last year). First several of us went to Starbucks, which is a tradition when a new person starts. So Marilyn and I started off by getting some steps, happily.
When we got back, I started Lise's training, also interacting with Donn, who was in working on new computers, plus finishing the Symantec updates (our antivirus software).
The training went especially smoothly after my work yesterday on creating a really detailed list of topics that I cover. I've decided this list can not only be used in training, but could prove helpful in making sure all Staff members are aware of various practices and policies. I want to put it up in cyber form, but also make a check list for people to review.
I finished around noon, then Marilyn and I drove home for lunch.
After lunch, we returned to work. We had plenty to do in the afternoon.
Today was Starlight Lineup. Thursday will be GFP Lineup! Hard to believe those are already here!
I talked to my friend Mark on the phone at length.
After work we went to Target to pick up a few things. We needed a birthday gift for our friend (and co-worker) Rich, so Marilyn suggest we get him a Fitbit. I thought it was a terrific suggestion! I hope he likes it. (We also picked something up for Merlin, who just celebrated her bday, too.)
This evening we spent some time making sure Marilyn had all the papers she needs for her tax appointment tomorrow.
I feel a little crummy tonight, and hope I'm not getting a cold!!! It's been wet and cold...
I don't think I've mentioned the book I just finished reading: "The Sparrow." It was wonderful! Christine recommended it to me. Now I'm reading the sequel, which I also love.
I have a bunch of work to get done tomorrow. I'm staying home, planning to tackle things from my home office...
What gives with viewing/selecting icons??? I can't 'see' many of mine, which is really annoying. Thanks, LJ!!!
I can't think of what I'm forgetting. (I'm tired tonight.)
Fitbit Update: Marilyn got 6,500 steps today. I got 6,028 steps. Not bad, really. We didn't want to walk outside during the day, because of the rain. (The trip to Starbucks was dry!) I went up and down stairs enough to get my steps. Poor Marilyn had to do the treadmill.
