There are officially three (3) days left of NaNoWriMo for 2005!
What an interesting month this has been...
It's now around 10:30 here and I just finally had my breakfast (back to oatmeal again) and another cup of (lukewarm) coffee.
Marilyn mistressmarilyn had to be at work early today, so I did get an early start on finishing up my NaNo novel. The current word count is:
49,014 / 50,000
Which basically means I've written around 2,000 (under by a couple hundred words) words so far this morning.
1,000 left to go to complete my 50,000 word goal. (Yes, there's no question I'll finish today.)
More NaNo Rambling...
Marilyn and I have already been talking about NaNo for 2006, by the way. We learned some helpful 'tricks' in 2005 that we hope to apply to next year.
For those who are curious, these (almost) 50,000 words do not make for a full novel in my case. I can only estimate what I might need, but I'm guessing at least 20,000 more words minimum would be required to flesh out and complete the story.
But it's got the beginning, a lot of good plot in the middle and an actual end! (I wasn't sure I'd have an end done by the end of this month, but it suddenly popped into my head one day...)
The premise of my novel really lends itself to a series of books, which takes me back to when I read the Judy Bolton and Nancy Drew books (among many others). There's just something about a series of children's books that tends to draw me, I suppose...
Have I mentioned that I'm 'in love' with my characters? (I am!)
Well, back to writing!
