Christmas Party and Christmas Shopping...

Today was our Staff Christmas party. We went to a place over at Pioneer Place, which is right downtown within easy walking distance of our office. That's nice, because we don't have to drive somewhere and find parking and so on. (Marilyn and I always used to call Pioneer PLACE the 'Palace' -- a play on Place. Several people at the festival office called it that. So I still tend to call it that... smile...)

It's a bar with entertainment options (mainly bowling, I guess) -- plus they serve food. (We spent part of the time playing ping pong, which was great fun.) Good food -- most of us had burgers, which were quite good. We did our usual gift exchange where we each draw a number and go in order to pick out gifts. (Everybody brings anonymous gifts.) Then a lot of 'stealing' of gifts goes on. It's okay, I guess -- I'm not crazy about the process, but most people seem to love it...

Mark and Donn both attended, but not Kris. No surprise. Oh well.

The weather was slightly dicey this morning, but we made it in just fine. Marilyn's meeting went pretty well, but the Apple TV wasn't working all that well.

Donn and I did IT until time to leave. And I left the party early to go back and work on more IT.

Marilyn and I were home by 5:00, believe it or not! That was nice.

Borrowed ice (smile) from neighbors June and Jim. We have a very old fridge and don't even have ice trays. So nice of them to give us a bowl of ice.

Took a long nap. I was so tired out. Then we got up and had to dash to the store before it closed to get stuff for Christmas for our neighbors. Tins of cookies, some candy canes and other candy. We take a tin with stuff taped on top and a Christmas card to several of our neighbors. A nice tradition. It can take anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple of hours per house, depending on how much each set of neighbors (or individual neighbor) wants to visit. These visits are important to all of us, sometimes we don't catch up the rest of the year.

Anyway, the shopping went well and I'll be ready to go tomorrow.

We're watching "Pocketful of Miracles," as I type this. It's a holiday favorite of ours.

That's all for today.
