Movie: "World War Z"

Marilyn and I just got back from going to see the movie "World Way Z," with Brad Pitt (as Gerry Lane), Mireille Enos (as Karin Lane) and Daniella Kertesz (as Israeli soldier "Segen") -- all three were quite likeable, by the way. (It's been some time since I enjoyed Brad Pitt in any movie...) What a SCARY film (!!!). It was actually a good story -- and easy to like many of the characters, even those with very small roles...

Whether you like zombie flicks or not, this one is worth a try.

By the way, if you were a fan of the novel "World Way Z," by Max Brooks, just go in aware that this movie is really NOTHING like the book. I feel you can like both, as long as you have no expectation for the movie to be anything like the novel.

For those keeping track, it got up to 96° (!!!) here today. (whew) That's way too hot for a June day in Portland! If/when we do get such high temperatures, it's generally in mid-to-late-July or even August. This is really rare...

Marilyn and I didn't do a thing the rest of the day, except lie around and watch TV. We got the 2013 movie "Side Effects," with Jude Law On Demand today. It was good, too, by the way.

Well, that's it for today! Keep cool, friends. (smile)
