Gay Marriage Was the News of the Day...

The news of the day? Supreme Court Bolsters Gay Marriage With Two Major Rulings (from the New York Times). "The rulings leave in place laws banning same-sex marriage around the nation, and the court declined to say whether there was a constitutional right to such unions. But in clearing the way for same-sex marriage in California, the nation’s most populous state, the court effectively increased to 13 the number of states that allow it."

I don't know if any of you Googled 'gay' today, but this is what you saw:

Gotta love it! (smile)

I went to the office with Marilyn today and actually got some work done. Website stuff and IT stuff and whatever. Marilyn and I went to Starbucks with Rich in the morning. Rich and I went to get lunch around noon. We were going to get Subway salads, but we couldn't get NEAR the place! The line wrapped outside the door, for whatever reason. So we got take-out Chinese and ate at the office.

I did manage to send the photos of deceased friend Wayne to Tammy (Sue's friend -- and also a close friend to Wayne). She's making a Memory Book of Wayne that she's taking to the cribbage tournament this weekend, where she plans to have people sign it -- then give it to Holly, Wayne's wife. Tammy is running the tournament, so she must attend -- meaning she'll miss Wayne's Memorial Service. Sue is planning another gathering later on for cribbage friends who won't be able to attend for the same reason...

Marilyn and I did go to the Peninsula Park photo event at 5:30 this evening. Tomorrow is the Centennial Celebration. Back in 1913 they took a historic photo in front of the Peninsula Park Community Center, and they wanted to take another photo (a modern replication) as party of the celebration. Frank met us there (from the Board).

They had a very good turnout, by the way! Very diverse, which is nice! (Sister Sue was unable to attend, a big disappoint for Marilyn...)

So we were home by around 6:00 and I made dinner and we watched some TV (Wimbledon and other things). Now I'm headed for a nap, as soon as I blog...

Tomorrow is the Centennial Celebration, which runs from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. -- and we need to be there by 10:00. (Marilyn is also having a fasting blood draw first thing in the morning, before we head over.)

Wimbledon? Tons of players have gone out and it's only Day Three!!! That includes Nadal, Federer, Sharapova, Azarenka, Ivanovic, Tsonga, Jankovic, Wozniacki, Hewitt, Cilic and Isner (and I may have left some out). WTF??? I can't believe it...

I'm sure I'm forgetting other stuff from today, but oh well...
