Long Damn Week (sigh)

So, it's been one long damn week. With a lot of tough moments. And this is after a week of being sick enough to stay down in bed much of the time. (After months of really hard work...)

Yeah, I'm ready for tomorrow -- MOVIE DAY. Hopefully we won't really accomplish anything much all day long (nor expect to). That works for me, I'm telling you!

Today? I did the Spring eNewsletter for RHSAA -- which requires TWO versions of the same: One at WordPress (that is tied into the website) and another at ConstantContact (an eblast service). It took quite a few hours today...

There's really no excuse for that eNewsletter to take so long. It's nothing compared to those done for the festival (which reminds me that I need to pick the three I'm submitting for IFEA and get them printed out). So why does it take so long? Because I only do these rarely -- so I can't get used to the routine involved. And the two versions are quite different from one another. Every eblast service is different (very different!) -- and ConstantContact is HARD to work with (at least, I think it is!).

I need to play around with the template and format and whatever -- and see if I can make it work more smoothly for the future. But we've gone to four a year, so...

Sister Sue and I did go to lunch, by the way (after she was done with her hair appointment). She's in a bad place right now, understandably. She worries me. I know it's hard to deal with the loss of two of her friends. But she MUST eat and sleep. (Life goes on, even while we grieve for our loss...) It was nice of Sue to take me to lunch (I had clam strips). We went to University Grill in North Portland (no website) -- and it's only the second time I've been there. It's located where the old (very old!) McDonald's used to be. One of the waitresses who worked for YEARS at Our Daily Bread (also no website -- and now closed) works there days (her name is Dana). There's something so comforting about having her serve us food (smile)...

Sue helped me take a (small) load to the Goodwill today. I want to get back to some serious clearing out, cleaning up and organizing around here, that's for sure! Little by little...

I did get to talk briefly with friend June today -- but didn't get by to see her, as I'd hoped. Maybe next week...

Interesting aside: I was trying to reach a co-worker and ended up accidently phoning Penny, someone who previously worked for the festival and has been gone several years! We had a nice chat and I'm hoping Marilyn and I can get out to see her new shop in Troutdale (Marco Polo Designs). Penny would like us to see the shop and perhaps go out to dinner. She and her husband have gotten very involved in local politics and are living near the Sandy River. She sounds like she's in a good place -- and I'm so happy for her!

Well, it's past 11:00 p.m. and I STILL need to go do the garbage and recycling (sigh)... So I'd better get with it.

Marilyn and I both really like Instagram. Do any of YOU play there??? They added VIDEO as of today, by the way. If you're into photos, I think Instagram is a great Social Media site, which interacts nicely with Facebook, by the way...

Well, if I ever want to get to bed (!!!), I need to get to work! So until tomorrow...
