Father Andrew Greeley -- a truly amazing man -- has passed away (he was 85).
You can read all about him HERE at his personal blog (andysword.com). There's so much I could say about him. Most know he was a favorite author of mine. He was a big influence on my life and I greatly appreciated his liberal attitude as a Catholic priest.
He's been suffering for several years now (he never did well after his 2008 accident) and I'm sure this is a blessing in many ways -- it was his time. I imagine he'll have a lovely party in heaven, in the Irish fashion. (smile)

Of course, he's not really gone -- because his more than 50 novels and numerous non-fiction books are still with us, and always will be! He had a lot to share with us, and he's going to keep on sharing, well beyond his death.
So even though I had a hard cry this morning (Marilyn was kind enough to phone and gently break the news to me), I'm at peace now. Just as he is! (Both Marilyn and Sue are Greeley fans, as well, by the way...)
Makes me want to curl up with a good Greeley book! (smile)
