Stormy Night -- Last Night AND Tonight!
stormy beach
Last night was very stormy! The wind was just shaking the house during the night. I was surprised both Marilyn and Jeff could sleep through it, because I certainly didn't! There was a lot of noise.

The rain has us worried -- not for here, but for the Portland house. I certainly hope we don't end up with flooding there.

In spite of the weather, we had a lovely day with Jeff!

We went to breakfast at Pig 'n Pancake in Seaside. (That's the place where we signed the papers on our house here in Seaside, by the way.)

After breakfast we went down and walked on the beach. At that point it wasn't raining -- but, boy, was it windy! My hair was totally in my face! And the sand was just drifting across the beach! The surf had been way in last night, but was way out this morning.

Also, we had a full moon last night. Very pretty.

After that walk, we went back to the house for a bathroom break. Then we took a ride and showed Jeff several different places, including some golf courses. Finally we went to Fort Clatsop, as Jeff had never been before. It's such a cool site! There's a replica of the fort originally built by Lewis & Clark. Plus the trail we hiked (mentioned by Grant's Getaways HERE) -- the Fort to Sea Trail starts at this site. Or, if you prefer to start at the ocean and go the opposite direction (Marilyn and I do), then it ends there. (Note that the link is to Wikipedia and not the Parks website, because it's so BAD.)

Late last night we tried to get a movie to watch. We wanted to see a zombie flick, so we rented "Dead Rising: Watchtower" (with Jesse Metcalfe). But we could only get part way in and it kept freezing up and stopping!!! So annoying!!! I mentioned it last night, but not by name. Anyway, we gave it another try today, but still no luck. (sigh)

So we watched "Disturbia," which Jeff had never seen and which Marilyn and I own. (The link goes to that film at RottenTomatoes.Com.) Good movie. We were all entertained.

Jeff left after that (around 4:00 p.m.), as he didn't want to be driving home in the dark.

We watched more TV and Marilyn had a nap. Then we went in to Seaside tonight and played a few games (including a little Fascination). We brought home two pizzas and some Frickles (deep-fried dill pickles) from Fultano's. We got a small pepperoni and a small taco pizza. Yummy!!!

Then we came home and cracked some Bud Light beers and enjoyed our late dinner. Very nice!

Obviously we've been having a very GOOD TIME here at the beach!

Tomorrow we need to go buy some Halloween candy to hand out to the Trick or Treaters. We totally skipped that last year, but are back to doing it again for 2015.

Small annoying notes: Our Charter Internet seems REALLY BAD right now! We've always been pleased by the quality of our internet connection here at the beach house, but that certainly hasn't been true this week! I wonder what the issue is??? And obviously we're unhappy with our Charter Cable service! We download an On Demand movie. It won't play. We try calling the help number and don't really get any help. Then we delete the movie and download it a second time. And it still doesn't work! Why, why, why???

Charter Services are VERY EXPENSIVE -- especially compared to our Comcast Services in Portland! It's ridiculous, but the Charter Services are really terrible when compared to Comcast. (sigh)

Well, that's pretty much it for today. I'm probably forgetting things, but that's okay. Off to snuggle up with my Kindle and read...

It was so nice to see you both today Sunday and have a tour of your beach home for Larry and go to eat. What a great time. Sorry I did not get to see even Henry. Love your cats. Glad you have enjoyed your time at the beach house. Also happy that Marilyn decided to stay over and go home tomorrow.
