Saturday -- Errands, Work, SLEEP
charlie 2012 beige
We started in by sleeping in this morning, which was very nice. We were both tired.

An aside: My blood count is up. But it was BEFORE the steroid shot, too (probably from my allergies -- and running a fever). I read that you should adjust your meds for a spell, so I'm trying that. I guess we'll see how it goes...

Anyway, Marilyn and I ran some errands this morning. That started out with running over to the Super Walmart in Washington (the one we prefer going to) to pick up Marilyn's online purchase of the James Bond movie collection. I was standing in a long line there at Customer Service. This was the wrong place to be, but I was giving it a try, just in case. (grin) I struck up an interesting conversation with a man who had a lot of tattoos. You can meet a lot of nice people anywhere that you happen to be...

Our errands also included mailing my form for the Arts Tax (MENTIONED HERE) -- you'll recall I'm exempt from paying it. We had to go to the downtown post office, as the local one is closed on Saturdays.

After that we headed to the office. Someone was parked in Marilyn's normal spot, so we had to park behind Carol.

There was a lot of food there for the volunteers, and I was STARVING. Slight exaggeration, but I hadn't eaten much last night and had nothing this morning. (Plus steroids make you hungry, of course.) So I grabbed a slice of pizza (and one for Marilyn, too), plus a bunch of fresh veggies and some strawberries. Yummy.

I was chatting with the volunteers who were upstairs by my desk. Marilyn was getting some work done in her office.

I did open and start working on the PowerPoint. There's more to do, but I think it's going to go fine.

Anyway, we stayed and worked for awhile, then came home. We were both tired and didn't feel like running more errands. I went to lie down for a nap. I thought I'd read a bit, but I didn't end up reading that much.

I just read that a steroid shot can make you sleepy the first couple of days, so maybe that's what's going on. But I think it's probably more likely that the ALLERGIES are making me tired, which often happens. I don't think the steroid shot has entirely kicked in yet (which seems to be the pattern from past shots). I am better, though, no doubt about it. (Even though I just had a big sneezing sessions. Well, nothing's perfect, after all!)

Marilyn dozed a bit when we first got home, but that was it, poor thing! She couldn't sleep after that, and was lying around watching movies on TV.

We're currently watching the Star Trek movie marathon, which is very entertaining. Yes, for those who don't know, Marilyn and I are Trekkies. Hahaha. We used to be offended by that and want to be called Trekkers, but now we just don't care. We love Star Trek and have always loved it, since it first aired on TV way back when. Classic Trek and Next Gen are our personal faves...

Marilyn was wearing her new Star Wars tee today -- it's really cool! Yeah, we love Star Wars, too. (smile)

The weather here is BEAUTIFUL!!! Totally a TEN. We often have nice Indian Summer days here in Portland, but I swear it's even better than normal this year. Looks like the weather will be lovely next week, too.

We need to go get our Auction outfits and our manicures (my nails are falling apart). So that's probably going to be tomorrow. We'd like to take a ride, too, if we get time.

Well, I think that's it for today.

Sounds like you had a good day and getting some rest is good for both of you. Hope the shot kicks in so that you will feel better by the auction. That would be very nice. I did not get much done in my room today just was lazy and never dressed all day. Rare for me to do that. Sleep study tomorrow night. Need to shower and wash my hair early and curl it some. Catching up all of the laundry too. Need to mop and clean both bathrooms a little also.

My allergies always make me tired, so that is very understandable that it could happen to you too. I think it is that less oxygen gets into the lungs so you feel tired. (But, that's just a theory...)

Glad the weather was good! You've had a lot of bad this year!

Allergies are a bitch, aren't they, Frank? But I've had them bad since college, so I guess I should be used to them by now. Hahahahahaha.

I slept for ages again today. Crazy. Maybe I just want to hibernate!

(hugs)
