Australian Open Tennis -- Manicures and Pedicures
manicure-pink

The Australian Open tennis tournament started today (4:00 p.m. our time). So we did spend part of the day watching it -- in fact, we have it on right now.

I slept in really, REALLY late today! Marilyn woke me around 2:00. I hardly ever do that anymore. But I can certainly remember times in the past when I could sleep for hours and hours! I used to be a person who needed eight hours a night, but that was a long, long time ago...

Anyway, I quickly got dressed, did my hair and makeup and got ready to go out. Then we phoned for an appointment and went out to have our pedicures and manicures.

Sister Sue had phoned and wanted to go for lunch, or Starbucks, but we had to say no. We just had to get this done. Our last pedicures and manicures were on December 9 (I had it in my head that it was in November, but I just checked it). Anyway, that was more than a month ago, and they were quite grown out. My toenails were long enough to be tearing up my socks and I had one fingernail that was really ripped. Plus it's really hard to do things when your fingernails get so long...

Marilyn did toes and fingers in two shades of brown, very nice. I was back to gold for my toes (I often do that color), and I did my fingers in a deep silver glitter, which turned out nicely. There are quite short. That's very popular right now, really short nails.

After we went to Target and picked up cat food and more Amy's frozen dinners. We each had one for dinner.

Sister Sue had fun at her cribbage tournament (Friday, Saturday and today). And the memorial for her friend Dot (that she managed) turned out really well. Sue's friend Nancy did quite well.

We watched "Revenge" tonight. I really miss Conrad and Daniel (and Charlotte, too). For the most part, I just find the show boring. David Clarke has been a huge disappointment in Season 4...

We had a treat of peppermint ice cream tonight. Nice!

Even though tomorrow is a holiday, Marilyn and I have to work. At least we don't have to be in early...

Well, the tennis is still on, but I'm hoping we'll head to bed soon...

This time of year frequently messes up our sleep, with the Australian Open happening in the middle of the night. I huess we'll survive!

Fitbit Update: Marilyn did around 5,100 (plus) and I did 3,066.

Good night all!

I called tonight when I was watching Andy play before Rafa, but you must have been asleep. I watched lots of the tennis. Big upset on the women's side. I want to look at the Amys dinners and see what I think. Maybe you can tell me which ones you like the best.
